The Creativists – Exploring the Creator in Creativity

All creativity comes from the likeness of God in us. How we use it, that’s a right of our free-will that comes only as a gift of grace the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Term, The Creativists

Creativity, be it a skill, talent born or borne or spent in heart and soul–practicing, mending, moulding and crafting, is a gift and calling that comes from our Creator.

~Ar. Be.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and earth” (Genesis 1:1). God, the creator of creating imbibed it into our image of Him.

So, as his calling allowed me, I think we creators, the Creator’s creativists, are blessed to have this unique gift and encouraged to use it for His glory.

The Blog, The Creativists

In our modern age, I have seen the rise of production in entertainment from the days it was a planned activity to a reflex we hold at our fingertips, waiting to take a moment our time till we forget time itself!

In today’s world, entertainment has evolved from a pastime to a cultural phenomenon, often consumed as a reflex. With a mere swipe or press, we lose ourselves in worlds. And don’t get me wrong, I’m no victim of this debauchery. I type here hat off head and wings in my popcorn bucket.

I’ve spent considerable time immersed in this digital abyss, both wasting and finding purpose. It’s through these moments of absorption that I’ve noticed something profound: a subtle yet undeniable presence that compels us to seek meaning beyond mere entertainment.

Though through it all, through all my wasted, un-wasted minutes, hours and days of watching pointless reels, to conspiracies to television, specials or just simply listening to tunes and casts on my way somewhere or nowhere drowning myself in better voices to rid myself of a blasted vehicle’s horn-cry, I’ve noticed something.

Something unmistakable. So loud in its subtlety, it makes me wonder if any of you do? So. without further ado, this is what I’m going to be typing about–

The undeniable influence of the biblical trope in every inch and scrape carved out of brains that spit from their creative nerve!

Welcome to “The Creativists”:

Pointing and capturing my eye’s lens of Entertainment Through Biblical Themes

Hello readers,

I’m thrilled to introduce you to The Creativists, a space where I explore the fascinating interplay between biblical themes and modern storytelling. Whether you’re a fan of books, podcasts, poetry, or television shows, join me as we uncover how these timeless narratives continue to shape the stories we love today.

Bible Tropes and influence in all Creative

The Bible has swept in to sow the seed of creativity itself, be it person, word, language, emotion, story, or even inventions.

If you want to know what Bible tropes are, check out this blog post.

The Bible also holds an unparalleled influence on creativity across various facets of human life. Its themes and narratives seep into our moral decision-making, language development, emotional understanding, storytelling techniques, and even technological advancements. This profound impact is not merely coincidental but a testament to the deep wisdom embedded within its pages.

In this blog, I’ll take you on a journey through entertainment, examining how themes like redemption, creation narratives, sin, forgiveness, and justice—rooted, submerged, diverged and spiralling every which way in context of its intentional or unintentional biblical intersection—find their way into contemporary media. My goal is to enrich your appreciation of storytelling by revealing these hidden connections and offering fresh insights that bridge faith and popular culture.

For instance, have you noticed how redemption arcs in TV shows often mirror biblical narratives? Or how certain character journeys reflect ancient creation myths? These parallels are not just coincidental; they highlight the enduring influence of sacred texts on modern storytelling.

I hope to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of entertainment by exploring these themes. Through my reviews and critiques, I aim to provide engaging and accessible insights that resonate with both your love for stories and your curiosity about their spiritual undercurrents.

Stay tuned for more posts where I’ll delve into specific examples from various mediums, setting the stage for an enlightening exploration of faith and fiction.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s discover together how biblical themes continue to inspire and shape the entertainment we enjoy today.
